Teens Set Prom Trends at Yorkdale with “Live Pinterest” Event
On Saturday April 14 2012, the Yorkdale Shopping Centre set and shared the trends for prom fashion with the help of the 2012 #YorkdaleProm Teen Ambassadors. In collaboration with Shedoesthecityteen.com, these four fashion forward high school students– boho chic Nilou, edgy Lin, classic Kate, and girly Madelyn – shared their prom picks at the exclusive “live Pinterest” event.
Pinterest is the virtual pin board which has taken social media by storm, and this time around got a reality makeover for prom. Fashionistas were able to mix and match outfits, ‘pinning’ their favourite clothing items and accessories from Yorkdale retailers in real life, with the help of Yorkdale prom stylist Carolann Organ.
Whether you are heading to prom this year (or wish you could re-live yours) with the Pinterest virtual pin board you could experiment with different looks using Yorkdale’s live pin board and oversized fashion screens, snap a picture in the Yorkdale Style Pinterest photo booth, and get a real time glimpse at your outfit.
