Northern Lights - Annual Art & Photography Show
Northern Lights the annual Visual Arts show presented by Northern Secondary School students was a great success. The talented students’ artwork included: ceramic chess sets, hand thrown bowls, sculptured teapots, figure drawing made with every media, sculpted paper hairstyles, jewellery, paintings and drawings of: zoo animals, still life, abstracts, portraits and more. There were works created in traditional oil paints, acrylics, ink, pencil and mixed media. The gallery dedicated to grade 9 art showed much skill, variety and imagination. To enhance the evening a string quartet conducted by Lead Music Instructor, Ms. Lomp and guitar players were present and performed throughout the evening, adding a lot to the friendly artsy feel. One parent described his impression of the ambiance as ‘a small art colony living within the halls of Northern’. Northern Secondary School students and staff wish to thank all who attended and helped behind and in front of the scenes.
