The Edwards Summer Music Series
Visitors to Toronto Botanical Garden (TBG) had the opportunity to delight in a vibrant experience of live music from Maza Meze in a free live concert on June 30. Part of a new series of free concerts generously sponsored by the Edwards Charitable Foundation, running every Thursday evening until August 18. Gardens of Song will feature the talent and artistry of some of Toronto’s most interesting musicians and dancers. Errol Nazareth, a regular on CBC Radio One’s Metro Morning and a columnist for The Toronto Sun, provided hosting duties for the evening with Maza Meze.
Maza Meze derives its name from both the Greek and Arabic words that describe the assortment of appetizers served at the beginning of a meal in those cultures. A wonderful description for music which crosses a number of wonderful cultural backgrounds. For oven an hour, this eclectic band entertained everyone on a warm summer evening.
