Spooky Pumpkins with Don Mills Collegiate Institute
For the second year in a row, spooky Halloween masterpiece pumpkins were made by the students and teacher Mr. Dan Kunanec of Don Mills Collegiate Institute on October 23rd at the Shops at Don Mills. The event went on for three days and approximately fifty different students from the high school volunteered. Many of the students are part of the Technological Design and Green Industries program at the high school and their goal is to raise money to buy a fruit tree for a greenhouse and crops on sight. Finished pumpkins were available for ten dollars each with all proceeds raised going towards Green Industry Program and the Breakfast for Learning - initiatives at Don Mills Collegiate Institute. Kids helped draw the design on the pumpkins while the students did the carving.
