Heroes in the Home Award Presentation

The Heroes in the Home Award was presented on June 7th at VHA Home HealthCare (located at 477 Mount Pleasant Rd.), recognizing the extraordinary efforts of Margaret Verdis for her commitment and outstanding dedication for 22 years to her husband Frank Verdis. Margaret is a devoted wife who has gone above and beyond the call of duty to provide her husband, who suffers from an acquired brain injury, with the support needed to live at home in comfort and with dignity. In a separate room, there was a riveting debate regarding taking an integrated approach to advance care planning. The panel of experts debated whether or not our health care system should take an integrated approach to advance care planning. It was a busy day at VHA. For more information, visit www.vha.ca
