Get the Jump on Spring
The Toronto Botanical Garden's held its Annual Horticultural Open House; Get the Jump on Spring, on Saturday, February 20. This was s the 15th annual open house, hosted by the TBG in partnership with the Ontario Horticultural Association, District 5, showcasing horticultural societies, garden clubs and environmental organizations from across Ontario. Visitors had the opportunity to learn more about becoming a member of a local garden club or association get one-on-one advice from master gardeners and take in some of the presentations and demonstrations going on every hour. There were presentations by 12 dynamic speakers, demonstrations every hour by well-known gardening experts along with 40 horticultural and specialty garden societies’ demonstrators. They offered tips and information on everything from "critter management in the garden" and "the new pesticide law" to succulents, alpine troughs and Japanese floral design. www.torontobotanicalgarden.ca.
