Scottish Ceilidh Dancing
"Easy and fun to learn"..that's what they told me. As the evening went on, I noticed big improvements in those claiming to be beginners! Maybe it was easy...with a bit of practice. Wendy was calling the moves and, within a short period of time, people got paired up, were then put into smaller groups than finally, 2 large ones. These folks picked it up quickly and were having a great time doing it.
The classes are sponsored by the Toronto Scottish Country Dance Association, last 10 weeks and are run twice a year. Each class runs about 2 hours, but remember: this is "social dancing" so the breaks provide an excellent opportunity to mingle and chat with people from the neighborhood. Sue Ann Bryce also pointed out that it's excellent exercise and good for the brain. If you are looking to try something different, it’s a fun way to spend an evening with new friends.
